This series of paintings is representative of what you take "off" instead of what you put "on"!

Since back to work from vacation,  I've slid into a method of painting of letting the paint stain the canvas, then covering it with more paint, then scraping off to show whats underneath. It's a process of "balanced" elimination.  Here I'm playing with my favorite color red, where the others below are more of the fall colors. The more I play with this method, the more curious I get and the more I want to explore it! It has me enthralled!  The canvas almost looks like fabric where I've scraped off the top layer. It's very soft which is so unlike my past style. I need to get some large canvases and really go to town with these! Cheers!

                                                                                                                              30 x 48

One of my favorite color combinations!

This is a different size for me and I like it! It also has a 2.5 deep frame so it's painted on the sides. Quite fun to do, think I'll order some more of this size. It's not quite as large as I like, but I can still cover a lot of ground on it. It's good to mix it up! Cheers!

Back to work I go!! Nice to step away for a bit and refresh!

I hope you are all off to a lovely start to summer!! We are just back from a month of travels, so a bit tired but thankful that we had the chance to check out so many lovely countries! Iceland was at the top of my list! Unlike anywhere I've ever been. It's good to just unplug and now it's time to get going in the studio! Lot's of ideas brewing, so it will be fun to see what transpires! Cheers!

I know I'm on a break, BUT...I need to share this with you!

Thank you to Pillar Homes and to the lovely family who hired them to build their house for asking me to fill their home with my paintings for the Artisan Home Tour! It was such fun to work with them and to help them select the art that helps to complete their home. I've been out of the country, so just finally back and it was so fun to tour the house and see how it all came together! Such a privilege to have such an opportunity and a huge congratulations to the new home owners who built such a wonderful home! Here are some photos for you to enjoy. If you live in MN and want something fun to do this weekend, come check it out! It's the last weekend of the show, June 22-24 from 12-6. The address for this home is 315 Margaret Circle, Wayzata, MN. Google Artisan Home 2018 for more info. CHEERS!
